Allerton Allies Community Fridge exists to make food more accessible to local neighbors while encouraging the community to share resources with one another.
The fridge stands on Boston Road in the Bronx. It runs on what neighbors put into it: groceries after a shopping trip, a case of rice, an hour spent wiping shelves, a few dollars toward the electric bill.
People who use the fridge aren't clients or cases. They're neighbors, and often the same people who stock it. That's the whole idea — give what you can, take what you need, and keep it clean for whoever comes next.
We keep our claims narrow on purpose. We don't publish statistics we haven't counted, testimonials nobody gave us, or partnerships that haven't been agreed to. Google currently shows a 3.9 out of 5 rating from 8 reviews. We'd rather answer criticism openly than paper over it.
